This week in Year 5 it has all been about the £5 Challenge. The children worked extremely hard to put the final touches to their products ready for our sale on Wednesday. There was a great range of products on offer from pet rocks to bracelets to food and drink to games. During the sale, the children were able to interact with their customers and there were a lot of happy children. Not only did the children manage to sell out all of their items, they took a whopping £305, £251.80 of which was pure profit. A big thank you to all of the school community for supporting this P.S.H.E. unit in Year 5.
In English, we have begun writing our prequels based on Carol Ann Duffy’s The Lost Happy Endings. We have previously developed our use of adverbials and dialogue to move the story forward. The children have been explaining how the witch who stole the happy endings became so wicked in the first place.
As we come to the end of the year, our Maths lessons now enable us to revisit some key learning points from throughout the year. This has included fractions and written multiplication and division. Practising these key arithmetic skills help to keep them fresh ready for Year 6.
It was fantastic to see so many of you at our opening evening on Thursday. It was a great chance to show some of the learning that has taken place this year and we hope you enjoyed the selection of work on offer.
