Fantastic Fractions!

This week, Year 2 have continued their learning about fractions. We used toy cars and had to place the cars at given points on the ‘road’. For example, one car got to  1 and 1/2 meters. Children worked out where to place the car from the start line. Everyone got really stuck in and enjoyed this!

We also used jugs and other containers to measure and find half, quarters or thirds of amounts of water. Perhaps you could look at bottles or jars at home.  You could look at the capacity and work out what half, quarter or a third would be?

This week we have also had fun preparing art for our school art exhibition which will take place on 10th July, at the open evening.

We have had some some lovely drawings of plants and trees for homework this week. Well done children for your great efforts!

Have a lovely weekend in the sunshine!
