Do you believe in the curse of Tutankhamun’s tomb?

Well done everyone for making it to the end of the half term!

We have been busy this week in English researching and preparing for a debate about whether the curse of Tutankhamun’s tomb was real or not. We were so proud of the way the classes conducted themselves when holding the debate; they listened carefully to each other, made good, relevant points and managed to make a few rebuttals too! The majority voted against the idea of the curse, as most of the evidence supported this idea, however there were a few very compelling reasons why it could have been true! Perfect to hold just before the Hallowe’en disco!

In maths we have been practising our skills in using the column method for addition and subtraction. We practiced copying down questions correctly and checking them to make sure they were correct. We challenged ourselves with more complex problems and missing number calculations.

In history, we saved the best till last and looked at why the Egyptians mummified their dead. After seeing all the coffins, mummies and papyrus parchments last week, it seemed only fitting to work out what they did in order to preserve bodies, which have lasted for thousands of years.

Saffron have completed their art project this week creating a charcoal drawing of a moment from The Jabberwocky poem. They have created a character and set it within an atmospheric background as well as adding some text to help tell that part of the story. We have some very imaginative pieces!

We hope you all have a wonderful half term.
