In English this week, we read the book The Dead Family Diaz – a beautifully illustrated story based around the festival of Dia de los Muertos. We researched this joyful celebration which honours the spirits of the deceased. We learned some of the Spanish words for the objects which form an integral part of the day, in preparation for writing a story in the coming week.
Year 6 enjoyed a debating workshop, delivered by an ex-student of ACS. The aim of the workshop was to get used to speaking in front of others and develop basic ideas of arguing. The pupils were reassured that the focus was on bravery, not perfection, and that it was fine to make mistakes.
