In year 3 we love ‘sharing’

In year 3 we have been continuing to look at the book ‘War and Peas’. We have been focusing on the adjectives we can use to describe the two contradicting kings. Using these adjectives we then wrote paragraphs about the kings and began to explore the correct use of inverted commas.

In maths we have continued focusing on division using grouping and sharing. We then introduced the inverse operation and created fact families using both multiplication and division. Realising that to check the division questions we have been looking at we can use multiplication. We have begun focusing on the four times tables and next week we will be looking at the relationship the 2, 4 and 8 times tables have,

In geography this week we have started to look at tectonic plates and where they are positioned on a map. We are going to continue investigating tectonic plates and what happens when they move. In science we conducted an experiment looking at how light reflects off an object into our eyes. We experimented with different types of materials and what happens when light hits them. In DT we have begun looking at the history of pizza and conduct market research on people’s favorite toppings.

For the next three Mondays year 3 have an extra PE lesson on tag rugby for an event that some children will be participating in. So please make sure the children have their PE kits in on Monday as well as the normal PE days.

We have set homework on google classroom as normal and paper copies are available if needed. Spelling are in the children’s spellings book and on google classroom.

We hope you have a lovely weekend.

The year 3 team.
