World book day

It has been a very busy week this week in year 3!

In English we have looked at how we use apostrophes for possession. We looked at our class book and found the nouns in it and then looked at what things belonged to them. We then worked out the after the noun we have to add the apostrophe and an s to make sure it makes sense.

In maths we looked at adding fractions. We realised that when the denominator is the same we only have to add the numerators. We played games to help us with our learning.

In science we continued to look at science and experimented with friction. We used toy cars and moved them across different surfaces to see how they travel best, In geography we looked at why people use mountains. We discussed if we would like to live near a mountain or in a city, it was very mixed answers.

WORLD BOOK DAY

We had world book day this Thursday. We either dressed up as characters from our favorite books or in comfortable clothes we would wear if we were reading. We began our day by participating in a phase quiz, we then took part in a Tom Gates workshop. We learnt how to draw like the illustrator and used this to create our own doodle walls. We then read with different classes across the school which we loved doing. After that we had a Matilda workshop were we learnt part of a dance from the musical.

Homework is on Google classroom but if you need a paper copy let us know. Spelling are also on Google classroom and stuck in the children’s spelling books.

A quick reminder that we have our rescheduled tag rugby festival next Thursday. The arrangements are the same as last time and if you have any questions please ask during soft start.

We hope you have a lovely weekend,

The year 3 team.
