The dream giver

We have had another lovely, busy week in school this week.

In English we have been continuing to look at the story of the Dream Giver. We have had a great time creating a non-chronological report about our own dream givers. We first created images using adjectives and expanded noun phrases and then wrote paragraphs about their appearance, habitat and job description.

In maths we have moved onto division. We have been focusing on dividing two and three digit numbers by a one digit numbers, with exchanging. We have been using different manipulatives to help us when exchanging one ten for ten ones. We will be moving onto short division next week and begin to understand how to use the bus stop method to help us with dividing.

In history we have been looking at the Romans invading Britain. We have looked at the who, what, where and why questions about the invasion. We also discussed whether or not we thought it was a good idea, for the Romans, to invade. In science we are continuing to look at magnets and how they work. We have experimented with magnets by finding things in our classrooms that are magnetic. We have began looking at the north and south poles and why they either attract or repel.

The homework this week is on google classroom but it will also be printed outside the classroom if you would like a paper copy. The spellings are set the same as always.

A reminder that we are going on a class trip on 5th May. An email has been sent out but if you have any questions please don’t hesitate to ask during soft start.

We hope you have a lovely weekend.

The Year 3 team.
