Welcome back after your sunny half term break! We started learning about the Geography of the African Savannah and the children have really enjoyed showing us their learning. We have a Savannah diorama in the workshop area, the wet and dry season in the small world, the baobab and acacia trees in the lego area and even a fact scroll on elephants as long as two small children (see photo!)
Whilst our break was more like the dry season on the Savannah we have returned to school to weather like the wet season on the Savannah, but thankfully the weather held out for our ‘Outdoor Learning Day’ today. We had great fun on the field this afternoon. We started by practicing our throwing and receiving ball skills in our PE lesson and ended by creating a map of the field and noting down all the different features we could see and hear. We measured the length of the field in paces and, although the measurements varied (!), we think it was about 90 paces long.
Wishing you all a lovely weekend.
